Funai is NOT Equal to or Greater Than Roku

•February 22, 2012 • Leave a Comment

My Feedback to Funai via Contact Us link:

The Funai set top box that streams netflix similar to Roku is fine…with the exception of several keys on the remote that all do something OTHER than what it should be doing…which is getting to the app home screen. For example, I start streaming a netflix movie and decide it sucks. I have tried every button on the remote to get back to the home screen only to learn that most of the buttons do the exact same thing. Hard Stop. Ridiculous. I should NOT BE FORCED to exit Netflix entirely in order to select a new movie. In addition, I should not be forced to go to the very end of a show or movie in order for this event to occur. In added addition, I should not be forced to disconnect the power cord 8 times a week because the Funai player is a piece of crap that gets boggled down by swift use of power off/power on. I mean..I just wanted to jolt it into working for a minute!  I hate this remote..I hate Funai. Just saying. I am taking this thing back tomorrow.

After this nearly midnight rant and send via Funai Corporate Contact Us link…this is the response I received (auto generated, naturally).

Funny how this really didn’t help matters.

Your form has been sent. Thank you for your inquiry.

One of our representatives from your area will contact you shortly. If you do not hear from us within a few days, there is a possibility that the form has not reached us. Please contact us via phone or e-mail (that is not a free e-mail account) to check the status of your inquiry. I’m not done yet. Also, I found this interesting…when I typed in funai.com all logically as if they must own their own stupid domain (duh)…this is the page I stumbled upon:

http://funai.com/

It’s funny because they must really be related, because even the illusive, copylefted fake funai family can’t get technology right. This is the sight they want us to visit for questions regarding vcr/tv/oh-and-cd-roms…because we are all watching muther effing cd roms:

They meant this one (all the people on this site are fake happy…they really want to smash the funai player in the face):

Anticipation

It is you and me only.
Finally.
And now I can be free to think
because the silence allows me to feel
and a tear falls. and more.

It has been too long, again.
In this way, that is.
A movie, a good deed-
These are different triggers
with different emotions.
Stay longer. Cleanse me.

I long to be a child
so to her I run,
the hand that brings me comfort,
a warm linen, syrup, and laughter.
With her,
My world is balanced again and I am restored.

Until I reach my destination
it is you and me, alone.
I find comfort in my quiet friend,
my companion of a life I left behind-
my road much traveled.

Business. Busy-ness

I am beyond exhausted. Let me reminisce about the days when I was merely venturing into business plans and dreaming wild dreams. I distinctly remember four day work weeks monday through thursday. They were half day four day work weeks. I suppose I like fantasy land a lot.

Nevermind, back to reality. My reality is better than your reality, right? Seventeen and fifiteen hour work days, cramming an overloaded work schedule in just before the holiday weekend because of my inability  to say no to people. That and greed. I am money hungry. That’s what happens when you discover Alaskan king crab is far superior..you start to work more so you can have something better. Perhaps you do not relate food to something better. Food is MY everything.

I ran into a person tonight and she needs my help. I seriously thought: I do not even have time to social media market my own business, are you kidding me right now? And then I was not selfish anymore. I agreed to meet with her. She is nice, that is why.

So, three day weekend in my favorite city in the world (so far): Portland! I am very happy. I can honestly say that in the last couple of months my world feels perfect. No loose ends, no yucky feelings, just perfectness.

I like this life. I just wish my employees would stop calling in sick!

35 to Be

I should be sleeping. I have a huge week ahead of me. I really cannot help myself, though. I am excited about my birthday. I feel like a little kid. I planned it out and sent my invites. Asian dinner theme, black attire, surrounded my dear friends and kids.

I loved my invite so much that I decided to share it with the world. Just to read, that is. ;)

In case you do not know the facts, I had my first birthday party when I was 29…so. Kind of a big thing to me. Gifts are not my thing, but being surrounded by those I love on my birthday is everything to me.

MY FRIENDS/MY DAY
You are receiving this invitation because you are one of my dearest friends. That said, it will not be at all surprising that my asian roots (go with it) will be the theme of my 35th birthday dinner!

ATTIRE
I like black. so do you. :D

FUN AND GAMES
Prizes and stuff will be awarded for the following: 1-Best Chopstick User (One over 18, One under 18), 2-Best Asian Attire (overall), 3-Best in Class Sushi Connoisseur. There will be one judge and that is ME. It’s my birthday. :)

BRING SOMEONE
Your significant other, preferrably. If they cannot attend, bring someone that adores me.

To Do

Set aside an evening that will require that work end early, that hair receives washing/putting stuff in/fixing..and that a touch of something extra will touch your face or skin-perfume/cologne, makeup, whatever.

This night will require clothing that says “tonight is a little bit special”. If it is cold outside, the coat must say the same thing.

You have planned this night in advance, so reservations have been made and you get into your freshly cleaned car and drive toward your destination. When the host/hostess greets you, you smile warmly and declare your reservation name after which she responds “<your name here>, table for one. Follow me, please.” So you do.

Look around. Feel the soul inside of you and feel the souls around you. Try something new because it will be all right. Order a drink and sip it slowly and feel something. Listen to the sounds that generously create a song. On this night, you get to hear the music.

This is a good night that you have invested in yourself because life is too short to forget to appreciate how important you are. Catch yourself smiling. It will happen.

I wonder what it is about being alone—even if for a brief moment—that feels so revitalizing.
